Our Summer Internship Program is a paid, immersive 10-week experience designed to help you explore career paths while bringing your passions and fresh perspectives to work. This well-rounded program not only offers hands-on learning but also serves as a pipeline for future opportunities. The Creative Services Team crafts all marketing messages for CBS Detroit WWJ-TV/WKBD-TV on all platforms: broadcast, streaming, social and digital.  The CS team writes, produces and edits promos for CBS News Detroit stations.  They create all sales production (commercials, digital ads, and other sales collateral).  The team designs all visual media used.  Creative Services also produces and supports the production of long-form content such as documentaries, program length news specials and PSA projects.

Requirements

  • Internships are available to students who will be Seniors or Master’s students in the fall of 2026. If you are a graduating Senior, please check our website for full-time job opportunities.
  • You must be available to intern full-time (5 days a week/36-40 hours a week) for 10 weeks total starting in June.
  • Interns will be required to work fully on-site for the duration of the program. Note: Paramount does not provide financial relocation support or housing stipends.
  • Internships are paid at a competitive standard hourly rate (school credit is optional).
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
  • Employment eligibility to work with Paramount in the United States is required as the company does not engage in sponsorship for internships.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on production shoots with camera, lighting and sound equipment. Setting up equipment; assisting videographer and director, providing talent support.
  • Work will involve pre-production assistance- researching subject matter; assisting concept ideation and script writing; reviewing and proofing scripts; conducting pre-production checks.
  • Administrative assistance: logging footage; organizing files and files storage; cataloging stock and existing footage, stocking promotional materials.
  • Support producers in daily brand marketing duties including topical news production.
  • Attend departmental and interdepartmental meetings to stay abreast of projects and offer assistance to CS team members.
  • Work with professional video and sound equipment and gain experience with Adobe Creative Suite: Premiere Pro, After Effect, Photoshop, Audition.
