About The Position

The Creative Project Manager at Securian Financial Group is responsible for executing internal marketing requests, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery of creative solutions. This role requires strong project management and communication skills to facilitate collaboration among various teams and stakeholders, while also managing multiple marketing projects from inception to completion.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of professional-level experience in a project management role on a marketing team or in an external or internal creative agency.
  • Project management experience for a variety of marketing asset types (print, video, email, web, etc.).
  • Skills to manage small-to-medium marketing projects to successful outcomes within tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and independent with solid analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with leaders and associates across all areas of the organization.
  • Written communication skills to document business requirements and communicate results clearly.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Workfront in a project management capacity.
  • Financial services industry knowledge and broad understanding of Securian products, markets, and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Execute internal requests from marketers and business partners, ensuring on-target, on-time, on-budget delivery of creative marketing solutions.
  • Coordinate Internal Marketing Agency projects/campaigns from creative discovery to execution, providing time estimates.
  • Develop, manage, and lead high volume small to medium inter-departmental marketing projects from creative kickoff to execution.
  • Own medium to large projects with guidance from supervisors or senior team members.
  • Partner with project sponsors and marketing teams to build project plans, prioritize projects, and coordinate resources within the marketing operations system.
  • Identify, initiate, and monitor project deliverables using repeatable processes, including milestones, roles/responsibilities, timelines, and required tasks.
  • Drive projects to completion, prepare summaries, and complete project closure activities.
  • Review project results and metrics, identifying future improvement opportunities.
  • Provide creative execution oversight and consistency, collaborating with project sponsors and creative teams.
  • Manage expectations with project sponsors and inter-departmental teams, leading checkpoint meetings to review issues, business requirements, and action items.
