About The Position

The Creative Production Operations Manager (CPOM) will report directly to the Director of Creative Production and will be a key member of our production team on beauty commercials. This person must be meticulously organized, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative. The CPOM will be a key leader on set, ensuring the smooth execution of shooting schedules, managing talent and crew flow, and maintaining the creative integrity of the production while keeping everything on time and within scope. The Creative Production Operations Manager will be held accountable to consistently exhibit strong leadership, quick problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of the unique demands of beauty-focused filmmaking.

Requirements

  • Degree in photography, video, or arts or equivalent combination of education and experience with knowledge of video editing.
  • Expertise and knowledge of cameras, mics, lighting, sound, and other necessary equipment.
  • Proven experience as a Creative Production Operations Manager, Assistant Director, or similar role in commercial, fashion, or beauty productions.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to command respect while fostering collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills to bridge creative, technical, and client-facing needs.
  • Deep understanding of beauty production demands, including lighting sensitivity, product presentation, and timing for makeup/hair resets.
  • Calm, decisive problem-solver with the ability to balance efficiency and artistry.
  • Clean, modern, and adaptable design aesthetic.
  • Understanding of the video ecosystem, distribution, competition, and trends.
  • Experience with shooting and editing videos for YouTube and social media.
  • A natural-born storyteller with a flow of creative ideas to engage video viewers.
  • Knowledge and love of beauty, fashion, and lifestyle.

Responsibilities

  • Break down scripts and treatments into detailed shooting schedules.
  • Budgeting and resource allocation for production needs.
  • Stay on top of invoicing and financial tracking.
  • Booking talent.
  • Coordinate with the Director, Producers, and Department Heads (Camera, Lighting, Hair/Makeup, Wardrobe, etc.) to plan an efficient daily workflow.
  • Keep the production on schedule, adjusting as needed while balancing creative priorities.
  • Lead daily call times, safety meetings, and set briefings.
  • Manage crew and talent movement on set, ensuring readiness for each shot.
  • Maintain clear communication between Director, production team, and crew.
  • Oversee talent flow for models, actors, and background performers, ensuring they are camera-ready and on time.
  • Work closely with beauty teams (makeup, hair, styling) to align timing with production needs.
  • Support vendors presence on set, ensuring their experience is smooth and professional.
  • Anticipate and resolve on-set challenges without disrupting the Director’s vision.
  • Help enforce continuity, particularly critical in beauty work where details (makeup, hair, product placement) are under a microscope.
  • Assist the Director in executing complex beauty shots involving rigs, lighting transitions, and slow-motion/high-speed setups.
  • Manage set safety, ensuring cast and crew operate in a safe environment (lights, cables, product rigs, etc.).
  • Keep documentation organized (call sheets, reports, schedules).
  • Troubleshoot real-time logistical issues while keeping the production moving.
  • Source and manage production equipment efficiently, maintaining up-to-date inventory and recommending new gear as needed.
  • Produce video that will resonate with our audience and drive a high level of engagement and sharing, and adapt stylistically to optimize engagement.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions with the creative team.
  • Test iterations of approved concepts and proactively resolve any production or post-production issues.
  • Visually present creative concepts through storyboards or mockups to ensure clarity and alignment across teams.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure smooth execution of all video production projects.
  • Oversee 3D e-commerce photo production, ensuring timelines, creative standards, and brand alignment are met.
  • Facilitate communication between 3D artists, retouchers, and the Product Development team to ensure smooth and efficient production workflows.
  • Review and approve 3D e-commerce assets before final delivery to the Director of Creative Production.
  • Support the Video Editor by providing high-level creative feedback and suggestions to elevate video edits for commercial projects.
  • Perform other duties as needed and directed by management.
