Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive creative experience in marketing, advertising, or brand leadership, ideally including higher education or mission-driven organizations.
  • A proven record of leading creative teams and delivering brand-defining campaigns across media platforms.
  • Deep expertise in visual design, storytelling, and integrated campaign development.
  • A strong understanding of brand strategy and its translation into creative execution.
  • Exceptional leadership, collaboration, and communication skills, with the ability to inspire creative teams and influence senior leaders.
  • Mastery of creative tools and workflows (Adobe Creative Suite, Asana or similar project tools, DAM systems).
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, communications, marketing, or a related field required; Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the Vision: Define and evolve the University's creative vision in partnership with the VP for Marketing, translating institutional priorities into emotionally resonant creative concepts.
  • Lead and Inspire: Oversee the creative direction of all marketing and communications materials, including digital advertising, video, photography, social media, publications, and environmental design.
  • Build and Mentor: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary creative team (Videographer, Photographer, Graphic Designers, Copywriter), fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Drive Strategy & Execution: Oversee the concepting and production of major campaigns, ensuring creative output is audience-centered, insight-driven, and aligned with enrollment and institutional goals.
  • Collaborate Across Campus: Work collaboratively with university partners to ensure consistent, strategic brand expression across all materials and provide creative consultation on major initiatives.
