Breakaway Media is the content and culture arm of Breakaway – the largest independent touring music festival in North America, reaching 350,000+ Gen-Z and Millennial fans across 13 cities annually. We exist to tell the stories of music, culture, creators, and the next generation – year-round. Through original IP, digital series, social-first storytelling, editorial, branded content, live tapings, and physical media, Breakaway Media is building a modern youth-culture studio. THE ROLE The Creative Director for Breakaway Studios is responsible for defining, building, and executing the creative vision across all original content, with deep fluency in the creator economy and digital native storytelling. This role architects the brand’s storytelling identity across social, digital, live, and long-form programming, ensuring every piece of content reflects a clear, premium, and culturally relevant point of view. Working closely with creators, artists, and on-camera talent, the Creative Director develops authentic, platform native ideas that can scale into repeatable franchises and long-term intellectual property. This role partners cross-functionally with Production, Social, Talent, and Sales to translate access and cultural insight into compelling formats that drive audience growth and brand value. Reporting into and working in close collaboration with the Strategic Advisor and senior leadership, the Creative Director owns day-to-day creative direction from concept through release, sets the quality bar across all outputs, and helps shape the long-term creative roadmap as Breakaway Studios scales its media business.
