About The Position

We are looking for a visionary Creative Director with deep copywriting expertise and a fluent understanding of Asian consumer culture. This is a senior-level creative leadership role for someone who doesn't just translate words — they translate meaning, emotion, and cultural nuance. You'll be the creative voice that ensures our brand resonates authentically across Asian markets, with a particular focus on Mandarin-speaking audiences.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of copywriting experience, with at least 1 year in a creative leadership or CD role.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating senior-level conceptual thinking and exceptional writing across multiple formats (broadcast, digital, social, experiential).
  • Native or near-native fluency in Mandarin (written and spoken), with demonstrated experience writing professional or creative copy in Mandarin.
  • Deep, lived understanding of Asian — particularly Chinese — consumer culture, values, and media habits.
  • Proven ability to lead creative reviews and give clear, constructive direction to creative teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working on campaigns targeting Asian markets or Asian-American audiences is strongly preferred.
  • Bilingual creative portfolio showing both English and Mandarin work is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the conceptual development of campaigns, scripts, and brand narratives from brief to final execution.
  • Serve as the senior creative voice on all projects, setting the bar for quality, originality, and strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with art directors, designers, strategists, and production teams to bring ideas to life.
  • Present and sell creative work confidently to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Write, edit, and refine scripts, taglines, long-form copy, and campaign concepts at a senior level.
  • Adapt and transcreate copy — not just translate — ensuring tone, humor, rhythm, and brand voice carry across languages and formats.
  • Translate scripts and key copy lines from English into Mandarin (Simplified and/or Traditional), maintaining cultural resonance and creative intent.
  • Evaluate all creative work through a culturally informed Asian market perspective, identifying opportunities and flagging missteps before they reach market.
  • Advise on cultural sensitivities, consumer behavior, values, and trends relevant to Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and diaspora communities.
  • Identify localization needs beyond language — including visual cues, storytelling styles, humor, and platform preferences
  • Stay current on trends, pop culture, and the evolving media landscape across key Asian markets.
