Danny Wimmer Presents is seeking an Executive Creative Director, Experience to define and deliver the next evolution of immersive festival environments. This is a senior leadership role responsible for shaping the full guest journey.The ideal candidate is both a visionary and a builder. You understand how to translate bold ideas into executable plans that meet safety standards, budget constraints, and the demands of live festival environments.

Nice To Haves

  • 10+ years of experience in experiential design, live event production, themed entertainment, or large-scale festivals
  • Proven track record of leading creative for complex, multi-million-dollar live environments
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both large-scale spectacle and refined, hospitality-driven design
  • Ability to concept bold, culture-defining experiences that resonate with music festival audiences
  • Deep understanding of CAD, drafting workflows, materials, and build processes
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and solving problems in high-pressure, live environments
  • Experience managing large budgets with a focus on efficiency and ROI
  • Proven ability to inspire, manage, and scale creative teams
  • Obsessed with the fan experience and how design influences behavior
  • Decisive, adaptable, and solutions-oriented under pressure

Responsibilities

  • Develop immersive, multi-sensory experiences aligned with each festival’s brand, audience, and cultural positioning
  • Translate abstract ideas into clear creative direction across scenic, spatial, and environmental design
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all guest-facing touchpoints, including entrances, stages, VIP areas, concessions, and sponsor integrations
  • Oversee the full design lifecycle, including master planning, schematics, design development, and construction documentation
  • Lead the end-to-end creative vision for all festival environments, from concept through execution and post-event evolution
  • Direct production, engineering, and fabrication teams to ensure creative concepts are executed with precision
  • Maintain creative integrity from render to real-world build, ensuring the final product reflects the original vision
  • Create “visual magnets” that guide guest movement and increase engagement in key revenue-generating areas
  • Lead onsite creative direction during load-in, show days, and strike
  • Identify and resolve friction points early in the design process to ensure seamless on-site experiences
  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing creative organization, including Art Directors, Designers, Drafters, and Production teams
  • Manage a flexible ecosystem of internal staff, freelancers, fabricators, and agency partners
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Partnerships, Operations, and Production to ensure alignment across all initiatives
  • Serve as the primary creative voice in executive-level discussions and presentations
  • Own creative budgets across festivals, including forecasting, tracking, and cost optimization
  • Lead procurement efforts, including vendor selection, bidding, and contract negotiation
  • Partner with Finance and Accounting on reconciliations, accruals, and post-event settlements
