About The Position

ONE Horizon is Horizon Media’s full-service creative agency, named Best Small Agency of the Year (MUSE) three times in a row. The agency’s full-service offering spans Brand Identity & Strategy, Comms Planning, Creative Concept through Development, and Account Leadership. The agency has a growing roster of iconic brands from Materne North America (GoGo Squeez), Jarlsberg Cheese, Freixenet, Honda Dealers, and Asahi, among others. The agency is headquartered in New York. The Creative Director/Art Director plays a critical role in the direction and design of advertising projects, team management & culture, and new business efforts. They will lead the visual development of projects with unconventional ideas and a zealous curiosity for problem-solving while ensuring high-quality execution of the final product.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of agency experience and collaboration with international brands
  • Understand the ins and outs of design systems, visual brand languages, & brand IDs
  • Experience with various verticals, including but not limited to CPG, food & beverage.
  • Strong Portfolio: includes award-winning multi-disciplinary thinking through the projects showcased.
  • Leadership Skills: demonstrates strong leadership skills and can organize, motivate, and improve the creative output.
  • Big Unconventional Idea Thinker: Goes beyond the executional or tactical tasks and creates innovative campaign solutions that work across all media
  • Versatile: A strong art director who can work in film, creators, audio, and social—with the ability to lead copywriters as well as inter-agency teams
  • Team Player: Positive, collaborative, contagious, and works well with others.
  • Entrepreneurial: Takes initiative and proactively comes to the table with new ideas to advance the creative work and develop the client relationship.
  • Production Savvy: Knows how to work within budgetary constraints and has experience working with photographers, directors, illustrators, editors, and production vendors for film, print, & digital outputs.
  • Time Management: Manages their time and hits deadlines while juggling multiple projects.
  • Cultural Player: Contributes to the agency's culture and participates in activities that foster the agency’s spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams and deliver strong, innovative creative output while reporting to the Executive Creative Director.
  • Partners with the CD-Copy in the development of the creative work.
  • Ensure adherence to clients’ brand guidelines and brand tone of voice.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Mentor and lead junior team members to ensure their growth and success.
  • Create structured work that clearly articulates campaign ideas at the platform level.
  • Process information supplied by client/strategy/account services and translate it into effective creative work.
  • Present work and develop relationships of value and respect with the client.
  • Help the agency build a strong, positive relationship with the advertising community to recruit top talent.
  • Stay current with the latest technology, AI-driven platforms, and industry trends, especially in visual and digital arts.
