Your adventure awaits! North American Forest Products (a division of Patrick Industries) is seeking a highly creative, trend-driven Pattern Designer to join our team. This role combines innovative surface pattern development with hands-on production execution for a large-format industrial printing-press.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in surface design, industrial print design, or production-focused creative roles.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Advanced understanding of seamless pattern building.
  • Strong knowledge of color theory and color separation techniques.
  • Ability to design to manufacturability, scale and press limitations in mind
  • Strong accountability and follow-through skills
  • Strong analytical/critical thinking
  • A high level of personal integrity (self-esteem, confidence, honesty, and respect) are necessary qualities

Responsibilities

  • Design seamless, repeatable surface patterns for large-format printing.
  • Develop realistic woodgrain, texture, and specialty finishes.
  • Ensure designs are optimized for large-scale industrial press output.
  • Translate physical samples into digital files through scanning and digital reconstruction.
  • Build and refine artwork in Adobe Photoshop and related Adobe Creative Suite programs.
  • Prepare files for large-format printing, ensuring scale accuracy and repeat integrity.
  • Execute advanced color separation, particularly for woodgrain patterns and natural textures.
  • Apply strong color theory knowledge to achieve accurate color matching across materials.
  • Translate artwork into AVA or similar surface design software for production workflows.
  • Support leadership with trend research and production innovation initiatives.
  • Partner with Sales to interpret customer concepts into manufacturable designs.
  • Work closely with production team to ensure artwork is press-ready and efficient to run.
