Creative Arts Core Counselor - Camp Fireweed
About The Position
A Camp Fireweed Creative Arts Core Counselor adheres to Camp Fire Alaska’s (CFAK) promise to provide youth with the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are through positive and responsible youth/adult interactions within the day camp environment. The Creative Arts Core Counselor will be responsible for developing and teaching Creative Arts (Creative Arts, drama, singing, music, acting, etc.) to campers. Additionally, this position will serve as back-up providing for coverage for Cabin Counselor duties as needed. In this position you'll gain valuable experience providing a high-quality camp experience for participants and parents within the CFA mission and goals. You'll have an opportunity to lead and participate in all camp activities along with planning and implementing age appropriate activities consistent with campers' needs/abilities that promote, encourage, and demonstrate caring, striving and thriving. Requirements
- Prior experience working with youth preferred.
- Prior experience in planning and leading Creative Arts activities.
- Eighteen (18) years of age required to maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting entities.
- Current Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED/ First Aid Certification from a nationally recognized provider (preferred) or availability to attend a certification course at the Camp Fire AK local office prior to listed position start date.
