About The Position

The Cream Cheese Machine Operator performs all activities that pertain to the packaging of cheese and ensures quality and productivity of the line while maintaining an efficient operation.

Requirements

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent skills by experience.
Must be able to read, interpret and understand written and oral directions.
Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies.
Must demonstrate basic math skills to calculate production yields, and understand weights and measures.
Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language.
Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.

Responsibilities

Properly package cheese within established company, regulatory and customer specifications.
Operate efficiently all fillers, sealers, pumps as required to achieve up to optimum machine capacity.
Train employees for job specific tasks in the packaging area.
Monitor production reports and schedules to conform to customer requirements.
Monitor weight and measures programs for weight controls.
Inspect and remove unsatisfactory packages from the packaging area and salvage cheese into rework containers.
Perform adjustments, minor repairs and changeovers of equipment to insure time allotments.
Provide proper cleaning and sanitizing of equipment.
Provide the necessary paperwork for inventory supply and customer order filling.
Inspect all equipment to assure proper operation and safety.
Ensure operational procedures are followed and paperwork completed.
Ensure GMP’s, quality control, cleaning, and sanitation procedures are adhered to.
Ensure safety procedures are adhered to.
Ensure proper packaging and labeling for each product and customer.
Assist in any other areas of the manufacturing plant when necessary.
