The High Voltage Safety Integration Engineer will be responsible for design crash avoidance packaging to ensure the vehicle is compliant to vehicle safety regulations. The engineer will review vehicle tree drawings, supplier CAE analysis results, and virtual engineering crash simulation results iteratively for all crash modes. They will provide feedback for design robustness, track and convey issues discovered, and update the open issues list in real time. The engineer will maintain the product book for all electrified programs for safety and compliance items and document best practices for the company's internal continuous improvement. This position requires maintaining the scorecard for management review and providing required technical assessments to management and vehicle teams to assure successful and timely implementation of safety requirements. The engineer will facilitate the creation of safety procedures, such as first responder's guide, power up and power procedures, and service procedures. Familiarity with safety regulations, safety feature implementation, packaging constraints, and vehicle level CAD drawings is essential. The engineer will work with the powertrain Center of Excellence team and HV safety subsystem team to ensure best practice design features and processes are implemented for manufacturing, assembly, reliability, and compliance.
