About The Position

Position Overview The Crane & Hoist Service Technician is an entry level position that will assist in providing quality installations, inspections, maintenance and repairs of overhead hoist and crane systems. Breakdowns will require troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical components and circuits.

Requirements

  • Troubleshooting experience with 3 phase motor control systems.
  • OSHA 10
  • Valid driver license with a clean driving record
  • Strong communications skills and customer-focused attitude.
  • Punctual, reliable and able to work independently
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screen and criminal background check
  • Be able to provide valid documentation to provide proof of citizenship in accordance with I-9 document
  • Display a professional and courteous attitude
  • Report to work at the designated start time
  • Willing to travel to various work sites or training as required
  • Willing to work overtime, nights and weekends when necessary
  • Strictly adhere to safety requirements and procedures and comply with the Company’s “Stop Work” policy
  • Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designation operations and production areas as directed
  • Ability to operate a forklift and service truck
  • Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers and Supervisor with other duties as required
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0-2 years work experience with Industrial Equipment, Overhead Cranes
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, and in challenging environmental conditions (e.g., extreme temperatures, wet conditions, etc.).
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, as well as perform overhead work.
  • Manual dexterity to handle tools and parts effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with troubleshoot and repair overhead cranes – Industrial Maintenance, Machine Repair, Industrial Electrician.
  • Assist with troubleshoot and repair electrical equipment (extensive knowledge of motor controls – 480 volt 3 phase, 120V controls, contactor controls and variable frequency drives).
  • Assist with breakdown calls (ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues)
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities on equipment.
  • Support customers by effectively interfacing with customer in repairing equipment as needed.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding required repairs.
  • Provide a high level of communication with both Customer and Crane Manager.
