About The Position

Crane/Rigging Superintendent We are seeking a skilled and experienced Crane Operator and Rigger Superintendent to join our dynamic team in the maritime industry. This critical role involves overseeing the safe and efficient handling of heavy equipment and materials essential for shipbuilding and repair operations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma, One year certificate from college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industrial and/or marine journeyman experience, along with a minimum of 10 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong Organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High performance and a strong team player.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and understand codes/specifications, sketches, and technical manuals.
  • Perform basic mathematical functions.
  • Ability to work under deadlines and schedule pressures.
  • Commitment to company values, policies and procedures and safety program.
  • General Computer Skills

Responsibilities

  • Confer with Project Management personnel, and contractors to discuss and resolve matters, such as work procedures, complaints, or construction, repair or maintenance problems.
  • Direct and supervise workers.
  • Determine labor requirements for dispatching workers to project sites or assignments.
  • Evaluate project execution methods and determine cost-effectiveness of plans.
  • Inspect or review projects to monitor compliance with safety & environmental procedures.
  • Investigate damage, accidents, or delays at site, to ensure that proper procedures are being carried out.
  • Plan, organize, or direct activities concerned with the construction or maintenance of structures, facilities, ships or systems.
  • Review and submit budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports.
  • Requisition supplies or materials to complete projects.
  • Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines.
  • Study job specifications to determine appropriate job methods.
  • Take actions to deal with the results of delays, bad weather, or emergencies at the project site.
  • Build customer Relations
