About The Position

The position involves selecting and operating various equipment and materials for moving loads safely and efficiently. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment is properly set up, maintained, and inspected before use. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety regulations and company policies. The candidate will also be responsible for keeping accurate records of materials moved and completing necessary paperwork at the end of each shift. Additionally, the role may involve performing other tasks as assigned by the Foreman.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with equipment maintenance
  • Works safely and adheres to all company guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Solid written and oral communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced high-pressure production environment
  • Has basic computer skills; data entry into various electronic databases or the ability to learn
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all areas of responsibility
  • Has integrity, good communication skills, and a positive attitude

Nice To Haves

  • NCCCO rigger level 1 required and rigger level 2 preferred
  • Certifications from trade schools and/or professional organizations are preferred
  • Knowledgeable in operating and maintaining equipment within oil and gas facilities preferred

Responsibilities

  • Selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves, and other relevant materials based on the weight size of loads to be moved
  • Controlling equipment professionally with levers, wheels, or foot pedals
  • Ensuring that equipment that will be used to move materials is properly set up and well inspected
  • Repairing equipment whenever it develops a minor issue
  • Keeping up-to-date, correct, and accurate records which include materials that have been moved, where they were moved from and to
  • Ensuring that mechanical systems are well tested to ensure proper functioning
  • Overseeing the alignment of equipment or machinery
  • Setting up, bracing, and rigging hoisting equipment with the use of relevant tools such as hand tools power wenches
  • Completing paperwork at the end of a shift, which involves documenting completed works and problems encountered
  • Strictly adhering to all safety, environmental, and health regulations and policies
  • Perform other various tasks as assigned by the Foreman

  • Must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and participate in an on-call rotation
  • Capable of lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling up to 50lbs
  • Capable of vigorous outdoor activities and have manual dexterity with physical ability to work extended hours, climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, working with arms extended above the head, twisting upper body, standing for long periods, working in confined spaces, exposure to extreme weather conditions, driving a vehicle, operation of forklifts and light industrial equipment
