This position operates crane and is responsible for the regular maintenance of all crane-related equipment. The incumbent needs to be a highly skilled crane operator that can manipulate or depress crane controls to regulate speed and direction and hoist movement. All work shall be in accordance with National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) standards and guidelines. Schedule: 4 weeks ON 2 weeks OFF, 60 hours per week (opportunity for more), 36 weeks ON and 17 weeks OFF (22% MORE TIME OFF!). Flexibility for special occasions, family needs, or other accommodations is available. Work Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico.

  • Operate boom trucks, rough terrain cranes and truck cranes in a safe and efficient manner
  • Move levers, depress foot pedals, or turn dials to operate cranes or other moving equipment for lifting
  • Load or unload bundles from trucks or containers
  • Determine load weights and ensure lifting capacities to prevent overload
  • Direct signal persons, riggers, truck drivers and all personnel involved before and during lifting operations
  • Maintain and inspect crane daily and have the ability to make minor repairs as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • High School Diploma, or Equivalent
  • Two (2) years of experience as a crane operator required
  • Strongly preferred New Mexico Crane License of over 500 hours of operating hydraulic cranes over 10T.
  • Current and valid driver's license, with clean driving record required depending on location
  • Current OSHA 10 and Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) certificates or be able to obtain upon hire
