MasTec Civil is seeking experienced Crane Operators to join their team in Miami, FL. The role involves operating various types of cranes, including All Terrain and Crawler/Lattice Boom Cranes, on heavy construction projects. The Crane Operator is responsible for ensuring safety and compliance with OSHA standards while performing a variety of lifting and construction tasks. This position requires a skilled craftsperson who can adapt to different tasks as needed and work effectively within a team environment.

  • Operate under Lift Director supervision and work with crews on various types of cranes including All Terrain, Rough Terrain, Mobile Crawlers, Hydraulic Cranes, and Boom Trucks.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA standards related to crane operations.
  • Follow instructions and communicate effectively using radio commands and hand signals.
  • Inspect machines and equipment daily, perform routine maintenance, and initiate repair requests as necessary.
  • Maintain visual and radio contact with ground operators and respond to instructions clearly and quickly.
  • Provide support to other crane operators and assist in training junior operators as needed.
  • Maintain a current Load Chart and Operations Manual within the crane cab and demonstrate proficiency in their use.
  • Participate in lifting load planning and execute approved Lift Plans accordingly.
  • Inspect and select rated rigging and crane appurtenances prior to lifting operations.
  • Perform daily safety and operational inspections of the crane and complete administrative paperwork including daily inspection reports.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 5+ years of experience lifting and placing concrete and other materials using cranes.
  • NCCCO or NCCER certification is required.
  • Thorough understanding of crane operation characteristics and safety protocols.
  • Experience with various types of cranes and heavy construction equipment.
  • Ability to work various shifts in a team environment.
