About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY The Crane Operator is responsible for using the crane and other equipment to load and unload material in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
• High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred
• Crane Certification is required (NCCCO with TLL and LBC endorsements)
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals; good judgment; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ability to work effectively with others.
• While performing certain duties of the job, the employee is required to see, talk, hear, use fingers/hands, handle/feel, reach with arms/hands.
• Lifting is required up to 75 lbs.
• Flexibility in hours worked and willing to work overtime is required.

Responsibilities

• Promote a strong quality culture throughout the company maintaining Cooper Steel’s core priorities: Safety, Quality, Production
• Ability to safely operate Lattice Boom Crawler and Hydraulic Cranes to load and unload material
• Operate other equipment / machinery and perform other job duties within the shop and yard
• Transport materials using tractor trailer trucks
• Inspect tools and equipment daily before use and maintain in good working order
• Other duties as assigned
