About The Position

- The Crane Operator at MORGAN STEEL LLC is responsible for operating cranes to lift, move, position, and reposition loads. The role ensures the safe and efficient operation of crane equipment in compliance with company policies and industry standards. The operator will work closely with site supervisors and team members to ensure that all lifting operations are conducted safely and effectively.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating cranes in a construction or industrial setting
  • Proven track record of safely and efficiently operating various types of cranes, including mobile, tower, and overhead cranes
  • Strong understanding of crane operation safety protocols and procedures
  • Ability to interpret load charts and rigging plans accurately
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness
  • Proficiency in using crane control systems and technology
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on crane equipment
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and site supervisors
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various weather conditions and challenging environments

Responsibilities

  • Operate cranes to lift, move, and position loads as directed by site supervisors.
  • Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate lifting operations and ensure precision.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations, including load weights and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Inspect crane equipment regularly and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns to management.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of crane equipment as required.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes.
