Turner Industries Group, LLC has an opening for a Crane Operator to join our Team in the Decatur, AL area. The Crane Operator will be responsible for operation of various power driven and hydraulic machinery which are used to move materials. Responsibilities include providing crane lifting and rigging support in addition to equipment preventative maintenance and inspection.

Requirements

  • NCCER/NCCCO certification required
  • High school or equivalent
  • Pre-employment qualification test if applicable
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Turner Industries Group LLC Indoctrination
  • OSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)
  • Job site orientation
  • Job site "Personal Protective Equipment" requirements (hearing protection, safety glasses, long sleeve shirt, gloves, steel toe boots, etc.)
  • Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
  • Read and sign off on JSA
  • operates overhead crane from a cab
  • receives verbal communication from employees where location of crane is needed to move spools throughout receiving, shop, staging, coatings and shipping areas
  • stays awake, alert, and is aware of surroundings
  • uses hand levers to control functions of the crane
  • performs daily inspection of crane
  • reports any unsatisfactory findings to the foreman
  • reads and interprets load charts
  • understands hand signals for communicating with employees in work area
  • maintains a clean and safe work environment at all times
  • climbing into and out of equipment
  • reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials
  • coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, fingers and feet to operate tools and equipment
  • lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead
