About The Position

This position involves operating various types of cranes, including crawler cranes, mobile cranes (such as wheel-mounted, rough-terrain, all-terrain, commercial truck-mounted, and boom truck cranes), industrial cranes (such as carry-deck cranes), service/mechanic trucks with a hoisting device, cranes on a monorail, luffing boom and self-erecting cranes, pedestal cranes, overhead and gantry cranes, and derricks. The operator will lift, move, and position loads like machinery, equipment, products, and solid or bulk materials, utilizing hoisting attachments such as hooks, slings, electromagnets, or buckets. NCCCO certification is a mandatory requirement for this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • NCCCO Certification
  • Climb structures utilizing appropriate fall protection and available handholds and footholds.
  • Access elevated work platforms and scaffolds through the use of ladders, stairways, or other designated access ways.
  • Work in confined spaces where respirators and fresh air equipment are utilized.
  • Adaptability and Agility to learn and contribute in varying and complex environments
  • Advanced Self-Awareness and Interpersonal skills
  • A consistently developing Business and Technical Acumen coupled with a drive to achieve results
  • Computer Skills
  • Ability to effectively verbally communicate directions from craft supervisors and respond to questions from managers and fellow workers.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Responsibilities

  • Operates crane under general supervision, manipulating controls such as pedals, levers, and buttons to regulate speed and direction based on written, verbal, or signal instructions.
  • Inspects crane equipment for defects or malfunctions and promptly reports issues to the supervisor.
  • Lifts, positions, and places heavy machinery or materials at construction sites and industrial facilities, including attaching loads, placing outriggers, and modifying boom sections as needed.
  • Maintains accurate documentation, including job tickets, service quality summaries, and other required paperwork.
  • Promotes and practices workplace safety by following procedures, participating in safety meetings, serving on the safety committee when requested, and cooperating in accident investigations.
  • Performs additional duties as required, such as operating a forklift, assisting with crane repairs, managing materials, and maintaining site cleanliness.
