Job Overview We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of heavy equipment and machinery. This role requires a strong understanding of both diesel and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to work with various tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a mechanic with a focus on heavy equipment repair.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge of transmissions, air brakes, alignment, hydraulics, suspension systems, and diesel engine repair.
  • Experience with hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and assembly tasks.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and tire service as required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in equipment repair processes.
  • Strong communication skills for effective customer interaction and teamwork.
  • Driver's License (Required)
  • Diesel Mechanic Certification (Required)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with maintaining heavy equipment in either the Construction, Transportation, or Intermodal Industry
  • Mi-Jack or Taylor Manufacture Brand experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on heavy equipment including cranes, side loaders, chassis stackers, and other equipment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on vehicles and industrial equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Utilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and perform necessary repairs.
  • Perform fabrication tasks as needed to support equipment modifications or repairs.
  • Operate heavy equipment for testing purposes post-repair.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs.
