Requirements

  • Grade 12 education or equivalent technical training.
  • Must have completed the requirements for Tradesperson qualifications or completed fourth year of five (5) year instrumentation apprenticeship.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Strong focus on safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Qualified Tradesperson (Instrumentation).
  • 2 years’ experience in the oil and natural gas industry.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Familiar with ABB Info 90 & Emerson Ovation DCS.
  • Experience working in the Petro Chemical/Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Experience working with boilers, burners and turbine controls.
  • Analyzer knowledge - Ametek Series 900 and Siemens Gas Chromatographs.
  • Familiar with Rosemount Transmitters and Fisher Controllers & Valves.
  • Knowledge of SAP.

Responsibilities

  • Senior Craftsperson (Instrumentation) or Craftsman (Instrumentation).
  • Perform regular preventative maintenance and installation of instrument and control equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and perform repairs to instrument and control equipment, and control-loop issues.
  • Complete testing and documentation for calibrations, maintenance, and compliance requirements tied to safety, environmental, and operational standards.
  • Participate in the development of procedures to ensure work is performed in a safe and effective manner .
  • Follow all safety policies and safe work practices and participate in regular safety meetings .
  • Support all instrumentation trade activities that may include other duties as required.
  • Work within Unifor Local 686B union.
  • Work in a team environment within the Maintenance department.
