ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and specifications to determine piping layout and work procedures. Measure, cut, thread, bend, and weld pipes using hand tools, machines, and welding equipment. Install, modify, and repair various types of piping systems including carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy, and non-metallic piping. Select proper materials, supports, and jointing methods based on project specifications and environmental conditions. Coordinate installation with other trades, such as scaffolders, insulators, and corrosion technicians. Perform pressure testing, leak testing, and inspections of completed piping systems. Follow company and customer safety policies, including proper use of PPE, fall protection, confined space entry, and hot work procedures. Assist with rigging and lifting pipe and materials using cranes or other lifting devices. Document work completed, material usage, and any deviations from plan. Load, transport and unload materials, tools, equipment and supplies. Secure pipe to structure with bracket, clamps and hangers using proper hand and power tools. Assembles and installs a variety of metal or nonmetal pipes and pipe fittings, using threaded caulked, soldering, brazen, fused, or cemented joints, and hand tools. Support other industrial services work (refractory, corrosion, rubber lining) as needed depending on project demands. Perform other duties as assigned.
