About The Position

The Crafts Manager at the Glimmerglass Festival is responsible for overseeing the Costume Crafts team during the Summer Festival Season. This role involves managing a team of Crafts Artisans and Apprentices, ensuring the smooth operation of the Costume Crafts workspaces, and coordinating with the Costume Administration. The Crafts Manager will lead various projects related to costume creation and modification, while fostering a safe and collaborative work environment.

Requirements

• Experience in Costumes with some experience in Fabric Props.
• Ability to delegate, communicate, and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in leading projects involving millinery construction and modification, jewelry construction and modification, leatherwork, stitching, painting, dying, and shoe/boot modification.
• Knowledge of fabric and garment aging techniques.
• Dedication to safe practices and a team-oriented work environment.
• Working knowledge of computers, including Word, Excel, and Google Drive.

• Previous seasonal work experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Costume Crafts workspaces and manage a team of Crafts Artisans and Apprentices.
• Purchase and manage supplies and equipment for the Costume Crafts team.
• Coordinate orders with the Costume Administration.
• Lead the setup and breakdown of Costume Crafts spaces.
• Attend fittings and communicate fitting information to Artisans and Apprentices.
• Assist in pulling, restocking, and organizing items in Costume storage.
• Attend tech rehearsals and supervise the pulling of rehearsal costume pieces.

Benefits

• Pay range of $21.30 per hour.
