About The Position

Installs, inspects, and maintains rotating equipment within the refinery. Inspects, troubleshoots and performs maintenance on rotating equipment. Adjusts and aligns machinery and equipment. Uses hand and power tools to complete assigned work tasks. Reads and interprets schematics and drawings. Is able to set-up, prepare, and inspect the work site. Demonstrates knowledge of basic physical and mechanical principles and craft math. Understands bearings, seals, compressors, pumps and cylinders, valve and pipe configurations, shaft packing, and drive systems. Understands characteristics of metals and is knowledgeable about the various types and applications of lubricants. Follows guidelines and procedures to ensure that rotating equipment is working in a safe and reliable manner. This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay. The hourly rate for this position is $55.78 and represents Valero’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the expected compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications and experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Rotating Equipment or related experience, which could include experience as a machinist, millwright, or pump mechanic required.
  • Able and willing to work on-site and in-person, required.
