About The Position

The Co-op will generally occur over the summer beginning in June. The work schedule for the Co-op program is a minimum of 20 hours each week, up to 40 hours per week, 8-hour workdays, Monday - Friday, with no overtime. The duration of the position is approximately 10-12 weeks. The Co-ops will be classified as non-represented temporary employees and will be paid $17/hour. Co-ops will be assigned a mentor and will receive training, experience, and work responsibilities in their craft. Co-ops are expected to actively participate in their respective Craft team and participate in conversations and ask questions to develop personal learning and gain workplace experience. The Co-op helpers in the following crafts -Instrumentation, Electrician and Welding will work independently and with other personnel to maintain and operate equipment and processes at the Sweeny Refinery. Some of the processes involved use hazardous and volatile materials under high temperature and pressure. Typical working conditions include outside weather and elements, blowing air, heat, noise, vibration and occasionally working from heights and confined spaces. Operators must follow safe work practices including the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). PHILLIPS 66 CO-OP PROGRAM IS LIMITED TO 12 WEEKS. Anticipated dates are June 9th to August 22nd, 2025. Participation in or completion of the Co-op does not guarantee future regular full-time employment with Phillips 66. Before the Co-op begins their role in the field, they will receive basic orientation that includes HR and Safety related topics. A training plan with the Co-op requirements will also be covered.
