The Crack Seal Laborer is responsible for performing manual labor to apply sealant to cracks in road surfaces as part of pavement maintenance and preservation projects. This position involves working with hot-applied rubberized asphalt sealants, operating machinery, and ensuring roadways are properly prepared and treated for longevity and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous experience in road construction or crack sealing is an asset but not required.
• Valid driver's license (CDL may be preferred).
• Ability to work as part of a team and take direction.
• Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
• Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Operate crack seal machines and other related equipment safely and efficiently.
• Clean and prepare cracks in asphalt using air compressors, wire brushes, or mechanical routers.
• Apply hot rubberized crack sealant to road surfaces using wand or pour pot techniques.
• Assist with traffic control setup and flagging as needed to ensure crew and public safety.
• Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and safety checks on tools and machinery.
• Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and local/state guidelines.
• Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, often for extended hours.
