About The Position
The CPW Deputy Director's role is to implement CPW mission priorities, policies, procedures, State initiatives, and legislation impacting CPW. The position focuses on enhancing outdoor recreation, State Parks, and the Colorado Outdoors Strategy, as well as agency operations to ensure implementation. As such, this position will serve as the leader in CPW's work to expand recreational opportunities in Colorado, including expanding and adding new state parks to the system. The position provides leadership, management and oversight of ongoing operations within CPW; represents CPW and the Director in various public bodies and stakeholder groups and advises the CPW Director on policy development; supervises the Assistant Director of Field Services, the four Region Managers and other work units as assigned; and leads internal employee engagement and communication efforts within the organization.
