We are seeking a highly motivated, innovative, and confident individual to join the CPU Architecture and Performance Team. This team is dedicated to driving advanced exploration for next generation iPhone, iPad, and Mac CPU architectures. As a CPU Performance Modeling Engineer with a focus on CPU microarchitecture, you will be part of a pioneering team working on innovation in branch prediction, code/data prefetchers, novel prediction schemes, and CPU pipelines. Your role will involve modeling advanced CPU microarchitecture pipelines and assessing the effectiveness of novel performance ideas and features in our high-fidelity cycle-accurate performance simulator. You will collaborate closely with RTL designers and performance verification engineers to ensure the model's accuracy in both functional and performance aspects, which are crucial for critical design decisions. Together, as a larger CPU architecture and performance team, we will maintain and improve the simulation environment to enable data-driven decisions and explore ways to enhance team productivity.
