Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• CPTI-Certified Phlebotomy Technician I or CPT II-Certified Phlebotomy Technician II certification.
• 1 year of recent relevant experience.
• Knowledge of laboratory testing ordering processes and specimen collection procedures.
• Ability to interact compassionately and effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organizational skills to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Ability to respond to fluctuations in volume and unexpected situations.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with local/state/federal regulations related to laboratory practices.

Responsibilities

• Collect blood specimens from patients.
• Receive, sort, and accession specimens for laboratory testing.
• Complete computerized tasks related to patient registration and test order entry.
• Perform basic post-analytic tasks, including distributing reports and managing specimens.
• Maintain a clean, stocked, and safe work area while documenting work processes.
• Monitor pending work and escalate priority tasks as needed.
• Operate basic pre-analytic lab equipment.
