The position involves performing and demonstrating proficiency in obtaining blood specimens through venipuncture and capillary draws for patients of all age groups. The individual will label and process specimens, maintain, restock, and manage laboratory supplies. Additionally, the role requires knowledge and skill in operating 12-lead and 15-lead ECG machines, performing these procedures on a diverse patient population ranging from neonatal babies to geriatric patients. The employee must complete the ECG class offered by the Cardiology department, which covers proper technique, storage, and transmission of ECGs. Adherence to policies and procedures as directed by supervisors and management is essential. The position also includes assisting in training and orienting new employees and interacting with internal and external customers in a professional manner. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Knowledge of standard office equipment and computer software skills is required, including proficiency in MS Windows, Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, and email.
