The Training Center CPR Instructor at RUSH University Medical Center plays a vital role in supporting the mission and guidelines of the American Heart Association (AHA). This part-time position involves providing instruction and education for various courses including Heart Saver, Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). The instructor is expected to exemplify the values of RUSH and adhere to its policies and procedures while delivering high-quality training to participants. In this role, the CPR Instructor will assist with the planning and organization of courses, ensuring that they are conducted successfully under the direction of the Training Center Manager. The instructor will travel to various sites across the Rush Health System to provide emergency cardiac care education, maintaining compliance with AHA guidelines throughout the process. This includes monitoring course faculty, ensuring that all courses follow the most current AHA guidelines and core curriculum, and utilizing the latest training materials. The position also requires the instructor to manage equipment and resources necessary for the training programs, coordinating with various departments to ensure that all equipment is in good working order. The instructor will actively participate in site and instructor reviews as per AHA guidelines and will be responsible for reporting any equipment issues to the appropriate personnel. Overall, this position is crucial for enhancing the skills and knowledge of healthcare providers in emergency cardiac care, thereby contributing to improved patient outcomes.
