About The Position

As a CPA Accountant at Landing, you’ll play an active role in shaping the financial foundation of a fast-growing startup. You’ll collaborate closely with our Operations, Finance, and Accounting teams to own key responsibilities like balance sheet and P&L reviews. More than just day-to-day accounting, this role puts you at the center of building and evolving new processes that scale with the business. If you're excited about getting hands-on with a product that's growing fast—and being part of the team driving that growth—this is the role for you. About the Team: Our Accounting team is a diverse group of high achievers with a say yes attitude. We work in a constantly evolving environment where flexibility and ability to achieve timely results in ambiguous situations is prized. We ensure that compliance is efficiently maintained using systems and well-defined processes to achieve this. We play a critical role in Landing's mission, and we partner closely with the business to make the company more successful.

Requirements

  • Must be CPA license holder with 3–7 years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Experienced with both detailed execution and higher-level project ownership
  • Proactive problem-solver who doesn’t wait to be told what to do
  • Comfortable making decisions, juggling priorities, and driving results independently
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Tech-savvy with experience in accounting software like QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, or similar
  • A communicator who can translate numbers into meaningful insights for business leaders

Responsibilities

  • Own the full accounting cycle: AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliations, and month-end close.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements with an eye for insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Lead accounting projects independently—process improvements, internal controls, system upgrades, and more.
  • Proactively identify issues, propose solutions, and implement them with confidence.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and corporate policies; coordinate with auditors as needed.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide guidance on accounting and finance matters.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning initiatives.
  • Mentor junior staff when needed, but your focus is ownership and delivery, not supervision.

Benefits

  • Solid compensation package + stock options
  • Comprehensive benefits - Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and AD&D, Disability, Mental Health, Pet, Commuter, and FSA or HSA
  • We’ve got you covered with a 401(k) plan and access to ImmediatePay
  • Feel relaxed with super generous PTO policy
  • Opportunities for upward mobility - we want you to grow with us!
  • Explore and travel comfortably free nights in a Landing home per year
