About The Position

The Coverage Lead Home Delivery Driver will be primarily responsible for supporting open route coverage for scheduled and unscheduled absences for a given territory and support training for new team members. This position requires flexibility for last-minute coverage of routes and involves travel to help cover routes in other territories as needed, which can be up to 25%. The schedule consists of a 4-day work week, and the pay is $19.25 per hour.

Requirements

  • High School Degree, GED or equivalent
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Minimum of 1 year of delivery driving experience
  • Ability to manage time and balance multiple priorities to accomplish goals
  • Excellent driving (DMV) record
  • Must be able to operate a smart phone and/or tablet
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including flexible hours
  • Experience utilizing e-mail and phone calls to communicate effectively
  • Strong, clear communication skills; must be able to speak/read/write English
  • Must be familiar with and comfortable using and following GPS routing
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to drive in various types of weather and traffic conditions
  • Prior experience adhering to company policies and showing core values
  • Pass a post offer drug screen and background check
  • Pass a post offer MVR Lookup

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year previous supervisory level experience
  • 2 years driving or delivery experience

Responsibilities

  • Travel to help cover routes in other territories; up to 10% travel
  • Safely operate company vehicle and obey traffic laws at all times
  • Load meals into company vehicle at designated cold storage facility
  • Deliver meals to clients, often taking meals into clients' homes
  • Make phone calls to clients when delivery issues arise or if necessary for your region
  • Accurately and consistently record deliveries on MMHD delivery application
  • Consistently follow all food-related sanitation/food safety procedures
  • Provide excellent customer service to clients at all times
  • Inspect, clean, and maintain equipment in a safe operating manner
  • Report any equipment failures and vehicle damage immediately to supervisor so proper repairs can be scheduled in a timely manner
  • Assist with vehicle and driver audits
  • Ensure deliveries occur in compliance with established protocols
  • Manage daily deliveries and unsuccessful/returned product
  • Identify and complete routine vehicle maintenance
