About The Position

The Cover Delivery Driver at Staples plays a crucial role in the Supply Chain team by ensuring timely and safe delivery of office supplies to customers. This position involves driving various routes to cover for absences and vacations, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining safety standards while on the road. The driver will also be responsible for loading products and organizing deliveries efficiently, making them an essential part of the company's operations.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with a safe driving history acceptable to the company.
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screen (No THC).
• Obtain a 6-month DOT medical card specific to the role.
• Basic English language skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to lift up to 70lbs and push/pull items weighing up to 400 lbs with assistance.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 1-year of truck driving experience (operating a 16ft or longer straight truck) or comparable driving experience.
• High volume / small package delivery experience.

Responsibilities

• Drive a variety of route assignments to cover for vacations and absences at least 50% of the time.
• Provide outstanding customer service by resolving problems and accepting product returns as required.
• Transport products safely and deliver office supplies on assigned routes to customers.
• Load vehicles and organize products for delivery utilizing the manifest to ensure efficient delivery routes and schedules.
• Ensure safe work practices and foster a safety culture within the team.
• Act as a problem solver for customers, providing support and accepting product returns.
