About The Position

The Seventh Judicial District is accepting applications for a full time Courtroom Audio/Visual Technology Integrator. This position will manage audio and visual functions and performance in all courtrooms, remote hearing rooms and conference rooms of the Seventh Judicial District. The position will design, install, analyze, program, modify and test all audio and visual equipment related to the sound systems, digital court reporting systems, assisted listening devices, court interpreter equipment, video conferencing systems, remote hearing technology, telephone systems, and other participative or adjacent technologies related to the courts. This position also involves project management responsibilities and coordinating with multiple vendors on various courtroom technology upgrades and integration projects. Example of duties: This position will ensure that all courtrooms have fully functioning audio and visual functions. Work in partnership with business teams and Judge units to understand courtroom operations and successfully plan for and implement the use of technology to aid in capabilities and efficiency. Coordinate and communicate with other District AV Peers on courtroom technology standards and trends. Collaborate with judicial officers, staff, and vendors to troubleshoot and correct courtroom technology issues; work with county resources. Respond to service desk tickets related to all audio/visual matters in the district; providing on-site repair, reconfiguration, adjustments and replacement equipment. Advise management in all areas of needs, objectives and capabilities, including anticipation of future requirements and potential problems. Coordinate warranty work, maintenance agreements and timely repair of all equipment. Perform testing and regular preventative maintenance. Devise security mechanisms to protect hardware and software resources. Create and maintain system documentation. Provide project management to any project associated with courtroom technology. Typical Qualifications: Qualification: Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation as travel to Seventh District locations is required Bachelor's Degree in MIS/Computer Science, Information Systems, Audio Visual Engineering/Production or closely related filed OR Associate’s degree in a related field and 4+ years direct experience in A/V industry. Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Experience integrating multiple functions of sound amplification, digital recording, audio and video conferencing using a digital signal processor, such as QSYS products. Knowledge and experience working with Minnesota State government IT departments. Excellent customer service skills. Knowledge of theories and practices related to audio and visual technology tools. Knowledge of technology industry trends. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and to translate technical terminology into terms understandable to non-technical employees. Ability to analyze, trouble shoot and resolve complex issues. Ability to work with confidential and sensitive information. Supplemental Information: Successful candidate will be required to pass a criminal background check. This position will remain opened until filled.
