Responsibilities

• Operate electronic walk-through and hand-held metal detectors, police portable radios, and x-ray machines to screen for prohibited items.
• Perform visual searches of bags and other carry-in items for security compliance.
• Use interpersonal skills to ensure adherence to security procedures by all individuals.
• Assess situations and call for assistance from security staff or local police when necessary.
• Interact with the public, including those with limited English proficiency or who may be confrontational.
• Provide information, direction, and assistance to visitors.
• Prepare and maintain accurate activity logs and incident reports.
• Respond to requests for first aid and manage emergency situations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
