About The Position

Courtesy Patrol is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and enjoyable environment for all residents and guests of the Beachwalk community. As a visible representative of the Property Owners Association (POA), the Courtesy Patrol ensures community rules are followed, monitors for potential safety concerns, and supports POA staff and management as needed. This is a part-time seasonal position, primarily focused on evenings, weekends, and peak community activity periods.

Responsibilities

  • Routine Grounds Patrol Conduct regular patrols throughout the Beachwalk property by foot and/or golf cart
  • Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter inappropriate or suspicious activity
  • Provide back-up assistance to POA staff when needed.
  • Greet and assist walk-in residents
  • Assist in de-escalating situations, escalating to management or authorities when appropriate
  • Common Areas & Activities Monitoring Monitor common areas such as the clubhouse, pool, and recreational zones during peak hours and special events.
  • Check for valid Beachwalk wristbands on all participants.
  • Enforce wristband policy by politely asking uncredentialed individuals to leave activity areas
  • Parking & Vehicle Enforcement Patrol all designated parking zones, fire lanes, handicap spaces, and recreational parking areas
  • Issue violation notices to unauthorized or improperly parked vehicles
  • Recheck vehicles after one hour and initiate towing procedures if necessary
  • Ensure familiarity with valid Beachwalk parking stickers (shown during training)
  • Golf Cart Enforcement Identify and document unauthorized or improperly parked golf carts
  • Enforce golf cart parking restrictions (e.g., no 6-seater carts on Beachwalk property)
  • Monitor for underage driving and issue $100.00 fines as applicable (drivers must be 16+ with a valid driver’s license)
  • Enforce rules related to reckless driving, lack of lights after dark, or unsafe operation
  • Document all violations, request guest rental/home address, and notify the Community Manager of repeat offenses or fines
  • Noice & Conduct Monitoring Respond to reports of excessive noise or disruptive behavior
  • Enforce local noise ordinances and POA policies
  • Address nuisances respectfully and escalate persistent issues to the Community Manager or local authorities as needed
  • Documentation and Reporting Maintaining a complete and accurate log of all patrol, activities, incident, warnings, and fines
  • Take photographs as needed for documentation (e.g., vehicles or golf carts in violation)
  • Immediately notify the Community Manager of: Underage drivers Repeat Offenses Vehicles Towed Escalated or confrontational incidents
  • General Conduct and Presentation Remain professional, courteous, and call in all interactions
  • Wear assigned identification and uniform (if provided)
  • Maintain a consistent and visible presence throughout the property
  • Seek clarification from the Community Manager when in doubt or when encountering unfamiliar situations
  • Emergency Protocol For immediate threats to safety or criminal activity, contact local law enforcement without delay
  • Notify the Community Manager as soon as the situation is safe and under control
