About The Position
At Hy-Vee, our people are our strength, and as a Courtesy Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our customers receive prompt, efficient, and friendly service. This position is essential in creating a welcoming atmosphere in our grocery department, where you will be responsible for assisting customers with their shopping experience. You will package purchases, help customers transport their items to their vehicles, and provide support in various ways to enhance their overall shopping experience. Your interactions with customers will be characterized by caring, concern, and patience, as you treat each customer as the most important person in the store. In addition to customer service, you will work collaboratively with your co-workers to maintain a pleasant work environment and ensure customer satisfaction. Your duties will include cleaning various areas of the store, stocking shelves, checking prices, and maintaining supplies at the front end. You will also assist in training new courtesy clerks, ensuring they understand the importance of customer service and adherence to company policies. This role requires a commitment to professionalism and a growth mindset, as you will be expected to learn and adapt to the needs of the store and its customers. The Courtesy Clerk position is a non-exempt role that reports to the District Store Director, Store Manager, and Assistant Managers. While there are no direct reports under this position, you will be an integral part of the team, contributing to the overall success of the store. Your ability to follow instructions, work as part of a team, and maintain a positive attitude will be key to your success in this role.
