About The Position

The Courtesy Clerk position is a vital role within the Grocery department, responsible for providing prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service. This role involves packaging purchases and assisting customers with their delivery to their mode of transportation, ensuring that every interaction is positive and memorable. The Courtesy Clerk is expected to exhibit core competencies such as partnership, a growth mindset, results orientation, customer focus, and professionalism. This position reports to the District Store Director, Store Manager, and Assistant Managers of Store Operations, Perishables, and Health Wellness Home, as well as Service Managers. There are no direct reports for this position, making it an excellent entry-level opportunity for those looking to start their career in retail. In this role, you will be responsible for greeting customers warmly, learning their names, and assisting them in locating products. You will package purchases, clean various areas of the store, and help transport items to customers' vehicles. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with co-workers to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain a pleasant work environment. Training new courtesy clerks and performing various tasks to enhance the shopping experience are also key responsibilities of this position.
