About The Position

The Courtesy Clerk Seasonal position at Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries is responsible for front-line customer service at a Liquor Mart. This includes processing sales transactions, handling stock, providing product information, and performing security and housekeeping duties to ensure a positive customer experience. The role reports to the Store Manager and involves various customer service and operational tasks.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (completed) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of cash handling, customer service, and computer skills.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to perform the essential physical requirements of the position.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of six months experience in a customer service-related industry is an asset.
  • Certificate in Marketing, Sales or Business Administration is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge and greet customers.
  • Approach and offer assistance to customers, providing a positive customer experience.
  • Use Point-of-Sale and inventory computer systems to complete sales transactions and returns.
  • Process customer payments using debit, credit card, gift cards, and cash.
  • Ensure accurate handling and processing of cash and credit/debit slips.
  • Package orders using appropriate resources.
  • Provide carry-out service when appropriate, ensuring shopping carts are not taken out of the store.
  • Provide Controlled Entry door coverage as required.
  • Answer phone using established protocols.
  • Unload pallets and move products to shelf locations or designated warehouse spots.
  • Stock shelves, beer racks, cold boxes, and displays, ensuring stock is rotated and in saleable condition.
  • Refuse service to minors, intoxicated persons, and second party purchases.
  • Handle Manitoba Liquor & Lotteries assets according to policy and procedure.
  • Support and comply with policies, procedures, practices and Corporate Responsibility commitments.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the sales floor and work areas.
  • Clean up breakage and dispose of waste as per procedure.
  • Return carts, baskets, tables, and other equipment to proper spots.
  • Remove excess cardboard, boxes, garbage, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
