As a Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger at City Market, you will play a vital role in creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Your responsibilities will include bagging groceries at checkout, assisting customers with loading bags into their cars, and maintaining a clean and safe environment that encourages customers to return. Bag groceries at checkout for customers, striving for at least five items per bag while ensuring items are not damaged.
Assist in removing customer's merchandise from the bottom of the bascart for checkout.
Offer to help customers with loading bags into their cars.
Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
Return merchandise to store shelves and gather bascarts to return them to designated areas.
Clean spills and collect trash inside the store and parking lot.
Handle and assemble seasonal merchandise.
Understand the store's layout, locate products, and conduct price checks for cashiers.
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and notifying management of unsafe conditions.
Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.
Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repair needs.
Create a welcoming environment for customers by answering questions regarding products.
Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
Manage conflict in a reasonable and nonconfrontational manner.
Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve issues.
Provide support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.
