The Courtesy Clerk (Bagger) position at Food City involves providing efficient and courteous service to customers at all times. The role requires following proper procedures for packaging customer orders and adhering to company policies outlined in the bagging manual. Responsibilities include filling bag racks, unloading shopping carts for customers, assisting in keeping shopping carts organized, and helping cashiers check out customers efficiently. The Courtesy Clerk will also retrieve stray carts from the parking lot, maintain cleanliness in work areas, assist in stocking milk and eggs, and help customers locate products. Additional duties include sweeping and mopping store areas, keeping bathrooms clean, ensuring the parking lot is litter-free, working in the parcel pick-up area, replacing misplaced items, collecting trash, and using the intercom properly. Knowledge of the ValuCard program and shelf tags is essential for assisting with price changes and customer inquiries.

  • Provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times.

  • Never carry on a conversation with another associate while bagging an order.
  • Know and understand the ValuCard program and be able to explain it.
  • Assist in sweeping and mopping all areas of store.
  • Keep bathrooms neat and clean.
  • Assist in keeping parking lot and shopping carts litter free.
  • Work parcel pick-up area as directed.
  • Replace misplaced items to the proper location.
  • Collect trash and bale boxes as needed.
  • Proper usage of intercom.
  • Know and understand shelf tags in order to assist in price changes.
  • Stock merchandise.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
