The Champaign County Court Services Department is hiring to fill current vacancies for Court Services Officers at the Champaign County Juvenile Detention Center The Champaign County Juvenile Detention Center provides safe, humane and secure temporary custody for juveniles pending court proceedings, or those who have been adjudicated on delinquent charges. In addition to ensuring the safety of youth while in secure care, the Department provides a wide range of programming to address the physical, educational, emotional and social needs of the resident population, offering officers the opportunity to utilize their knowledge and skills to effect positive change in the lives of at risk youth. The behavior management program utilized at the Center is a group-based, behavior modification system that allows youth to be rewarded for positive behavior and positive behavioral change, and helps shape new behavior by reinforcing 'small steps' along the process of change. The 2025 starting salary is $50,914.50. This position requires officers to work shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Shifts vary from 9 hours to 11 hours. The starting salary is set by a Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Fraternal Order of Police and is not subject to change. Experienced candidates with prior employment as a Probation Officer may be eligible to start at a higher rate of pay based on their experience. This is an FOP position.
