Court Security Officer
About The Position
Experienced officers begin at the Probationary Officer pay rate but advance to the experienced rate after successfully completing the field training program. This position performs security functions for the Elkhart County Courts in Goshen and Elkhart. Duties include, but not limited to: security screening, security patrols, control center monitoring, transports, preparing and filing reports, supervision of inmates at trials and other related functions. Must follow universal precaution standards for blood borne diseases. This is an entry level position. Successful candidates have an opportunity to advance through a career development program within the Sheriff's Office.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and a US Citizen
- Pre-employment background check (criminal and credit), polygraph and drug screen
