General Position Summary Patrols and provides security and crime prevention in and around the court; provides safety to the court staff and the public.

Requirements

  • High school or GED certificate
  • No criminal history that involves serious misdemeanors, felonies or extensive driving record
  • Valid Driver's License
  • First Aid/CPR Certified
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of Internet software.
  • Ability to talk or hear.
  • Ability to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • Ability to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Pre-employment drug screening
  • Sheriff’s Background Investigation, conducted by the Sheriff’s Office
  • Psychological Evaluation
  • Final Sheriff’s Determination
  • It is the attendance standard of the employer that all employees be present and on time each shift they are scheduled to work.

  • Prior law enforcement experience is preferred.
