About The Position

The Court Security Officer (CSO) position at Walden Security involves providing armed security services to courthouses under the USMS contract. The role is critical in maintaining safety and order within court facilities, ensuring compliance with federal laws, and protecting court personnel and the public.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of verifiable experience as a certified law enforcement officer or military equivalent within the last seven years, including general arrest authority.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record for the past five years.
• Completion of a certified law enforcement training academy with proof of certification.
• Must be at least 21 years of age and pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform entrance control by operating security screening equipment to detect weapons and prohibited items.
• Conduct roving patrols of court facilities and grounds as per post orders.
• Stand guard at stationary posts, monitoring security equipment and courtrooms.
• Provide armed escort services for judges, court personnel, and jurors when directed.
• Direct traffic and control lights on court facility properties as needed.
• Enforce federal law and detain unauthorized individuals attempting to access government property.
• Prepare reports on contract performance issues, including incidents and security breaches.
• Secure unattended courtrooms and inspect them prior to proceedings.
• Provide a security presence in the courtroom and enforce judicial orders.
