Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Court Reporter (CCR) as provided by Rule 14 of the Missouri State Supreme Court Rules.
  • Ability to operate reporting equipment and general office equipment effectively.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and maintain accurate records.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to professionally represent the Court and adhere to professional ethics.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Professional Reporter Certification (must obtain CCR from Missouri within 24 months of employment).

Responsibilities

  • Record and preserve all courtroom proceedings under the direction of the judge.
  • Attend court sessions and record full verbatim records of all oral evidence, including objections and rulings.
  • Preserve records utilizing accepted methods of recording, such as machine, shorthand, or steno mask.
  • Transcribe records of proceedings and provide transcripts to requesting parties.
  • Perform courtroom duties, such as marking exhibits and assisting the judge as required.
