About The Position
The Court Reporter Supervisor position within the Division of Workers' Compensation in St. Louis offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of court reporters in a dynamic and collaborative environment. This role is pivotal in modernizing the internal and external processes of the Division, contributing to operational excellence while ensuring compliance with Missouri Supreme Court rules. As a supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the hiring and training of court reporters, providing coaching and discipline, and conducting performance reviews. You will also manage hearing calendars to ensure adequate coverage for both virtual and in-person administrative proceedings, which are essential for the adjudication office's operations. In this role, you will take verbatim records of testimony during assigned hearings, capturing all objections, rulings, and exceptions. It is crucial to ensure that all court reporting activities comply with established rules and that all evidence is properly marked and incorporated into transcripts. You will utilize a computer-aided transcription system to prepare the verbatim records and ensure that timelines are met for data recording and statistical purposes. Additionally, you will perform various office management duties, including answering phone calls, proofreading documents, updating statistical reports, and attending mandatory training sessions. The position may require travel up to 25%, adding a layer of flexibility and engagement to your work.
